RedMaryland Radio

Brian Griffiths
Co-Host and Executive Producer

Dubbed “The Godfather of Maryland’s Blogosphere” by the Examiner’s Mark Newgent, Brian has been unleashing his unique blogging style on Maryland politicians since January 2005 at blog.briangriffiths.com. He has been at the vanguard of electronic media in Maryland ever since, being one of the first contributors to RedMaryland, serving as a regular contributor to the  Conservative Refuge Podcast, as well as serving as the one-man crew of The Brian Griffiths Minute, a semi-regular vlogcast available at www.briangriffiths.tv, and a regular contributor to the Word on the Street on WAMD 970AM’s with host Warren Monks

Brian always brings a no holds barred approach to blogging and to reporting, angering friend and foe alike with his blunt honesty. To Brian, the principles of honesty and conservative policymaking trump even party loyalty, gaining him a respectable following among activists and reporters alike. Brian’s reporting on the controversy with the Anne Arundel County Republican Central Committee in 2007 brought  regional and national attention to the matter and provoked a discussion about the role of party leadership in the Conservative movement.

Brian is unique in that he often tackles subjects on his blog that other area political  bloggers will not discuss. He will write often about his beloved Orioles and Ravens, international relations, even astronomy and theoretical physics when the fancy strikes.

Brian’s involvement goes far beyond blogging. Brian is an influential and sought after political strategist, working with a number of state and local campaigns on strategy, message development, and campaign promotion. Brian has worked on two County Executive races, a County Council race, a Mayoral race, and several General Assembly races in support of Republican candidates.

When outside of politics, Brian also serves as the Chairman of the Board of the Maryland Student Legislature, a non-profit Maryland corporation which provides college students with experiences in legislative and civic leadership through a simulation of the Maryland State Government.

Brian combines media savvy, political wisdom, and insider knowledge in an effort to provide a full picture for RedMaryland Radio listeners.
